Life in Mo'orea | Original Tropical Seascape Painting on Canvas

Life in Mo'orea is an original painting born from one of the most rewarding chapters of my life. During the Covid years I lived in French Polynesia with my husband, just a few minutes from Temae beach in Moorea. We went there every day to snorkel, to eat, to walk. I painted this to hold on to that joy: the flower crowns, the warm water, the simple freedom of being in nature.

The woman in the lagoon is me. Long dark hair over sun-warmed skin, a crown of white tiare flowers in my hair, I lift a great conch shell and let the sea pour from it, the droplets catching the light. Behind me, the turquoise shallows give way to golden sand, green hills and a soft Pacific sky. It is a self-portrait of a single moment of pure happiness.

Worked in turquoise, coral and warm earth tones, the painting carries the calm and light of the South Pacific into any room it lives in.

About the artist
Tanya Hayek is a painter and live artist working between Nice and Dubai, known for her warm palette and her fashion illustration. Her work and live performances have been created for Dior, Cartier, Ladurée, Raffles and W Hotels. Every original is painted by hand in her studio.
